We're looking to grow our team with both a full-time paid position and individuals interested in interning and learning about Regenerative Agriculture.
Primary focuses will be in irrigation, fencing, and animal husbandry. Our operation currently raises meat chickens, turkeys, sheep, and cattle. We're looking for someone to take the initiative with the irrigation and in helping us rotationally graze all the animals around the main ranch and a couple smaller farms nearby.

Position Title: Ranch/Farm Hand + Irrigation Specialist
Location: Melba, Idaho
Summary:
The position could be a seasonal or a full-time position responsible for supporting the daily operations with a big emphasis on irrigation management. This role also includes general maintenance and upkeep of the ranch, assisting with livestock care, pasture maintenance, and other essential tasks that contribute to the health, productivity, and aesthetic of the ranch.
Key Responsibilities:
Irrigation Management
During the water season the ranch hand is responsible for the movement and management of irrigation including: pivots, wheel-lines, hand-lines, k-lines, and all irrigation across all pastures and fields. They are to keep irrigation systems running to full potential by keeping sprinklers clean of clogs, fixing any leaks, and reporting any other major issues to be fixed by the ranch manager.
Ranch hand to work with Ranch manager to determine water schedule, and is responsible for moving water according to agreed schedule.
During the off season, and between haying/grazing, they are responsible for removing pipes from fields, and moving any broken pipes to the ‘bone yard’ to be repaired.
Livestock Care
Ranch hand will be responsible at times for feeding, watering, and monitoring livestock, ensuring all animals are healthy and properly cared for. If they see any issues with livestock, they are to report this information to the ranch manager.
Assist with rotational grazing practices, moving animals as directed by the ranch manager, building and taking down temporary fences and also fixing/maintaining permanent fences as needed.
Land and Pasture Maintenance
Support the maintenance of pastures, including harrowing, irrigating, and repairing fences and water systems.
Ranch hand is responsible for spot spraying weeds to maintain roads from goatheads and all other noxious weeds along roads. They are also to spot spray as needed in pastures or any area of property where weeds have become an issue. (Goatheads & Thistles are the main issue needing work).
Responsible for trimming and keeping trees and branches trimmed and cut along roadways and outskirts of fields that would interfere with vehicles and equipment. To also maintain trees within pivots, so they won’t cause harm to the pivots.
Equipment & Facility Maintenance
Perform maintenance and upkeep on some of the ranch’s vehicles, equipment, and tools, ensuring everything is in good working order and serviced.
Keep shop, vehicles, and all facilities clean and organized.
Assist with seasonal tasks, such as winterizing irrigation systems, general clean up, feeding livestock, preparing and removing irrigation equipment during haying, and any other duties that would make the ranch more aesthetically pleasing or efficient.
Collaboration with Management
Communicate effectively with the ranch manager to understand the ranch's goals while also understanding day to day priorities and tasks.
Be a self motivated worker.
Attend weekly meetings with the ranch manager.
